We need your views on how the DWP can help people with ME/CFS get back into work – if they want to do so | 27 June 2014

June 27, 2014

Along with other members of the Fluctuating Conditions Group, our medical adviser Dr Charles Shepherd will be meeting DWP medical advisers and officials on Thursday July 3 to discuss what is going to happen to the ESA Work Capability Assessment as a result of the evidence-based review of our alternative assessment.

We are also going to discuss the various government schemes, including the Work Programme, which are designed to help people with health and/or disability problems get back into work.

So if you have experience of any of these schemes, the Work Programme in particular, please let us know via ME Connect: meconnect@meassociation.org.uk

If you have any views on the sort of help – practical, financial etc – that is required to help people with ME/CFS return to employment, provided they are able to do so and want to do so, then please let us know.

This feedback obviously needs to be in by Wednesday July 2.
