Yoga classes for people with ME/CFS | Sunderland Echo | 1 May 2012

May 1, 2012

From the Sunderland Echo, 1 May 2012

A GRANT to help people with fatigue illnesses is being used to set up yoga classes.

The therapeutic yoga classes for people with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), will be held in Chester-le-Street’s Bullion Hall on Fridays from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

ME North East was awarded the grant from Durham Community Foundation to deliver the classes.

As well as at Chester-le-Street, the organisation delivers yoga sessions in Stanley and Newcastle.

People with ME experience physical problems, such as pain, muscle weakness and migraines, which can make most forms of exercise impossible.

Most say they experience less pain, feel calmer and sleep better after attending yoga classes.
