Book your place in the 2023 London Landmarks Half Marathon

If you would like to run for the ME Association in next year’s London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday April 2, please let us know.

Entries are not yet being accepted at the official race console but we’d like to give you the earliest possible opportunity to let us know that you want to join our 10-person team.

We’ve entered teams for the past few years in this closed-roads event. Runners have enjoyed an iconic route which takes in Pall Mall, Trafalgar Square, and St Paul’s Cathedral before finishing in Whitehall opposite the entrance to Downing Street.

Regular runners can make the event part of their racing calendars, aiming to whittle a second or two off their personal bests – while fun runners can just soak up the atmosphere.

WHAT WE ASK FROM YOU

To be part of the team, you need to be over the age of 17 and able to complete the race within four hours, when the roads in central London will be reopened. We’d also like to know something about your competitive running background.

We'll be asking for a commitment from each runner to raise a minimum of £350 plus a registration fee of £20. We need to cover the purchase price of each entry which is £140 and then make as much as possible for the charity.

Entrants will receive a high-quality technical T-shirt, an award-winning finisher’s medal, a sturdy race bag, a finisher’s sweatband with zip compartment, water on route and and hear an amazing selection of bands and choirs  along the 13.1-mile route.

The highly-prized finishers' medals will be handed out by the Chelsea Pensioners and London’s Pearly Kings and Queens.

COULD YOU HELP US RUN A ‘CHEER STATION'?

In 2023, the ME Association hope to run a roadside ‘Cheer Station’– where we can cheer on the runners, take membership inquiries and just generally fly the flag for people with ME/CFS.

If you would like to help on the stand and wave a rattle, you would need to be available to put in a shift between the first of the staggered starts at about 7.30am and the finish at about midday.

Whether you’re someone who wants to run in the race or help out at the cheer station, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Tony, our fundraiser, by email at tony.britton@meassociation.org.uk or phone on 07946 760 811.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

For people with ME/CFS who are thinking about taking on a physical fundraising challenge, or if you are organising an event that might involve people with ME/CFS, please read this notice from Neil Riley, Chairman of the ME Association.
