Yesterday, Dr Charles Shepherd, Honorary Medical Adviser to the ME Association joined Carolyn Leary from Sheffield ME & Fibromyalgia Group to discuss the new NICE guideline for ME/CFS published in October 2021 and its implementation.
Dr Shepherd's presentation included:
- Introduction to the new NICE guideline on ME/CFS, and how it was developed
- Key differences with the 2007 guideline
- How to diagnose ME/CFS
- How to best support patients: specialist referrals and different aspects of management
- Implementation of the guideline
The talk hosted by Sheffield ME Fibromyalgia Group concluded with Dr Shepherd answering a number of questions from the ME/CFS community.
