Description
Medical lead: Dr Brendan PayneThe service offers diagnosis for people who have been referred by their GP with symptoms of ME/CFS. Upon diagnosis, patients are given support via physiotherapy and fatigue management.
Support is offered to GP's regarding the referral process and tests (including blood tests) and questionnaires that should be carried out prior to referral.As the service comprises different teams, patients may be asked to attend different hospitals or community services when undergoing therapy.
The North of the Tyne NE/ CFS Service consists of a secondary care (hospital)- based diagnostic team, a community-based rehabilitation and management team, and a paediatric service.
