Service was excellent, a relief to receive a proper diagnosis and full recognition of my symptoms after dismissive response from Primary Care GP. Had a series of online one to one sessions with a specialist OT alongside a workbook that covered physical and mental aspects of coping with ME/CFS and fibromyalgia. Had 6 month follow up. Has made a really positive difference to my ability to manage.
Review on behalf of my son. Online group course a couple of years ago. Ridiculously mixed group from very mild to moderate/severe ME (my son) so very different needs. He felt they were advocating GET by any other name. Sessions were pointless, exhausting and a complete waste of time and energy.
I have severe M.E. at the time of my assessment I was very depressed. The assessment was with a psychologist and very stressful indeed for me. I was given two or three 20 minute zoom calls afterwards with a psychology student. The service did not meet my needs for the severity of my condition.
Went in 2019 for a six week course on managing ME. Prior to that I had been too ill to attend. The OTs ‘diagnosed’ my ME but could offer little else, no clinicians for a holistic approach I needed for all my issues. The course was useful to a point but after 6 weeks I was kicked back to primary care with no follow-up as they have nothing else to offer. Feel completely abandoned in all honesty.
I am housebound with very severe ME. Referred to Bath fatigue service after an additional diagnosis of Fibro. Physio phone appt, refused to acknowledge my ME, tried to push me into ACT therapy and exercise, which is contraindicated by NICE Guidelines for people with ME, especially very severe ME. Their treatment follows the robustly disproven biopsychosocial model for ME, which is harmful for pwME
Excellent service start to finish. I opted for face-to-face individual sessions but there were other options as well, depending on needs and preferences. Incredibly compassionate team, with a great deal of helpful, practical advice that I continue to use day-to-day.
Fairly quick referral time. Run by OT’s and focusses on learning to accept and make the most of life with limitations. Pacing but no real understanding of heart rate pacing. No medical advice.
Online group sessions completed during lockdown were basic, inadequate and a tick box exercise. I was diagnosed with CFS 10yrs previous to this and knew more about condition than coordinators.
Bath only has a "fatigue clinic" with a physio offering nothing but Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and exercise. No idea about severe ME.
Friendly and knowledgeable but no real practical help.
