Looking at a previous review, it is a shame that things didn’t get better. I had exactly the same experience 15 years ago. Initial diagnosis then a couple of follow up appointments after which left to my own devices with no after care from my own doctor. The care whilst at the hospital was great but felt abandoned and still do. I really hope that things improve for future patients.
Very good for first diagnosis and support six years ago - talking to someone who understood was amazing. Pacing did include at element of what I now know as GET though. Not able to provide follow up after a few months of support due to work load. I felt a bit abandoned especially as my GP practice seem to ignore ME as a condition needing an annual review.
I attended this place some years ago. I was driven there and had to use a mobility scooter. I was expected to attend a two hour ‘tick list’ conversation when I could only support my own head for fifteen minutes! It was ridiculous. The payback from attending was harsh. I was offered a series of group sessions when I was only able to manage a one to one conversation. Impossible. Nothing thereafter
Nice people. Sadly BACME affiliated. Mind/body nonsense. Of course there is a connection, but it's neither causal nor curative. Very little experience of severe. Focus on rehab inappropriate.
I have been seeing Erica as part of the rehab service for over a year. Through the monthly video appointments, advocating, explaining she has had a hugely beneficial effect on my life living with ME.
I was turned down by this service because my M.E. is too severe (I’m bedridden). They said they don’t offer a home-visit service.
I therefore can’t review what they offer, as they refused me.
The CFS/ME Service provides specialist assessment and treatment for adults who have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome/ME. Most patients are assessed and treated by specialist therapists, some are seen by the consultant. Treatment is either one to one or group basis. Severely affected patients can be seen at home.
