Runners – shake off the winter blues in London on 3rd April.

January 11, 2022

If you have runners in the family who would like to shake off the winter blues in one of Britain’s most iconic half marathons while supporting a great cause, ask them to get in touch with our fundraising manager, Tony Britton.

He’s still got eight pre-paid places to give away in the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday, April 3rd. What we’re asking in return is a commitment to raise a minimum of £250 for the ME Association by race day.

The event is a closed-road run in central London – the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and Westminster.

It’s a sightseeing bonanza! The race starts close to The Strand and finishes at Downing Street with fabulous views on the way of some of the capital’s most famous landmarks. These include Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, Nelson’s Column, The Gherkin, The Shard, The Tower of London and the London Eye.

In return, we offer full support package and help with publicity, if required. The ME Association hopes to be fielding 20 runners.

We ask entrants to sign a simple, single-page agreement with us before they sign up to the official race console. Runners must be over the age of 17, set up a JustGiving page and be able to complete the distance in under four hours, when the roads must be re-opened.

Permission is being sought from the local authorities for up to 17,000 runners to take part this year.

For details, please contact Tony as soon as possible. He’s available any day of the week on 07946 760 811 or email tony.britton@meassociation.org.uk

Edited highlights from last year's race can be viewed on YouTube. Warning: it's cheerful and very noisy!
