Situations Vacant: Fundraising & Development Manager

The ME Association is a registered health charity that provides expert help to people with ME/CFS and Long Covid. We have established an excellent reputation and consistently deliver high standards of support, reliable and timely information, welcome medical training, effective campaigning, and we fund medical research.

We need a fundraising and development specialist who can help us meet an increasing demand for the charity’s services.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, creative, responsible, friendly, and caring. It is a flexible position attracting a starting salary that can be increased depending on performance.

  • The successful candidate can work from home but must be able to attend key fundraising events or there is a hybrid working option – head office is in Gawcott, Buckinghamshire.
  • You would start at 25 hours per week (5 hours per day) with the potential to work full-time.
  • Employed or Freelance option available.
  • Subject to a 3 month probationary period.

The role

  • Basic salary: £25,000 (£35,000 FTE) (+ Bonuses TBD) or equivalent.
  • Home working (or hybrid option).
  • Employed or freelance.
  • 25 hours per week (with full-time potential).
  • If Employed:
    • Annual leave entitlement: 25 days + bank holidays (pro-rata).
    • Pension: Contributory NEST pension scheme.
  • Reporting to the Head of Communications.

You need experience of:

  • securing income from a range of different sources.
  • building funding pipelines and widening a support base.
  • implementing a digital fundraising strategy.
  • budget holding and financial reporting.

You should:

  • be friendly, patient, and caring.
  • have excellent writing and verbal skills.
  • be able to travel and attend fundraising events.
  • have reliable high speed Internet access.
  • have experience with Microsoft applications and CRM data management.
