The ME Association is a leading UK charity that provides support and information to people affected by PVFS, ME/CFS, and LC, and we invest in research to better understand these life-changing medical conditions.
Role description
With an increasing demand on core services, we are looking for a part-time, enthusiastic, responsible, and well-organised person to join the communications team. You will report directly to the head of communications and your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing daily news alerts for PVFS, ME/CFS and Long Covid,
- Creating, loading, and publishing approved website blogs,
- Creating and monitoring website surveys and e-Newsletters,
- Creating suitable graphics within Canva for the website and social media,
- Contributing ideas and planning future team activities,
- Monitoring social media comments,
- Helping to organise and maintain the website and social media platforms,
- Helping to maintain website databases, ‘Medical Matters’, mailing lists, and the website shop,
- Helping to answer requests for support and information by providing holiday and sickness cover.
Employment
You can work from home although there is an option to work from head office in Gawcott, Buckinghamshire for some or all of the time.
You must be able to commit to 20 hours of work in total each week and 4 hours every working day. There is some flexibility as to when you work these hours, but they should be between 9.00am – 4.00pm.
You will need a reliable computer and broadband connection if you prefer to work from home. Experience of WordPress, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Office, GetResponse, Canva, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and WhatsApp, would be welcome but full training will be provided where necessary.
You will be employed with an annual salary of £13,520, access to the charity’s pension scheme, with 25 days holiday each year (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. There will be a 6-month probationary period.
