M.E. – praise for one of the storylines in ‘Doctors’, BBC 1, today | 9 July 2012

July 9, 2012

M.E. was portrayed in one of the minor storylines on the TV soap, “Doctors', on BBC1 today.

So far, we have heard nothing but praise for the way was depicted with all due respect for the seriousness of the condition and the way it was placed in context.

  1. I watched ‘Doctors’ on iPlayer after seeing the MEA post, my review is here: http://velo-gubbed-legs.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/doctors-me-subplot-on-daytime-tv.html

A fluffy, medical soap is never going to describe ME accurately and this was a mixed bag, I think some points about ME got confused, in spite of the writer’s intentions to educate. But there were a couple of positives, although it all felt very researched – like he’d googled to find out about ME, but didn’t actually know anyone who has it. And no mention of viral trigger, that was BAD.
