We are delighted to be able to offer charity places in next year's Brighton Half Marathon – which has alway been one of the earliest distance events in the UK's annual running calendar.
If you fancy getting down to Brighton on 2nd March to get some action while shaking off the winter blues, we'd love to hear from you!
All we ask is that must be over 17, that you're fairly confident that you can complete the course, and that you join us on our joint online fundraising page at JustGiving. This is where you will be asked to commit to try to raise at least £300 for the charity.
There will be a registration fee of £20 payable immediately to the ME Association when we accept your entry. We will then register your entry on the race console which will close at the end of January – after which we can accept no further entries.
The course is flat, which makes it ideal for first-timers. It starts at Brighton Pier and takes in the colourful beach huts in Hove before finishing at the Royal Pavilion. The event is owned by local HIV charity, The Sussex Beacon.
This will be the 35th year of this particular half marathon with 12,000 runners expected to turn out on the day. This is the first time the ME Association has bought charity places in this event so, for this first year while we are testing the water, we have limited ourselves to buying five places only.
