Russell Fleming, Content Manager, ME Association
The ME Association is looking to recruit someone to help expand our social media presence in the M.E. community and to make more of an impact in wider UK society.
We want our media to continue to stimulate discussion, helpfully informing those who may be struggling to understand M.E. or to cope with the disease.
You will have a good working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and be capable of creating new ways in which our key messages and campaigns can reach those most affected.
You will be working with several other members of the team and will need to produce quality work often within a tight deadline.
Creating high-impact and relevant posters, sharing news and monitoring discussions will be key parts of your role.
You will need:
- to commit to 4 hours each day during the working week and be flexible as to when this time might best be applied,
- to have personal experience of M.E. and be aware of the issues affecting this community,
- good interpersonal skills and the confidence to help others with often sensitive issues,
- a suitable computer, a reliable internet connection and be able to use Canva or a good graphics alternative. Experience of WordPress would be useful but is not essential.
You will work from home on a self-employed basis and you will be paid £800 a calendar month.
Employment will be for three-months initially and following a satisfactory performance review, a 12-month contact will be offered.
We will provide support until such time as you felt able to take more control. It may prove necessary to work longer hours at particular times during campaigns.
Working for the ME Association is very rewarding. We think you will enjoy being a member of the team.
