Mrs Anne Faulkner, hon director of the CFS Research Foundation, a tribute | 13 November 2013

November 13, 2013

This week we were sorry to hear of the death of Mrs Anne Faulkner, honorary director of the CFS Research Foundation in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, who died in hospital after a short illness last Thursday (November 7).

With her late husband Hugh, Mrs Faulkner co-founded the CFS Research Foundation 20 years ago. It raised large sums of money for research into this illness.

The funeral will be held Friends' Meeting House, Jordans, Bucks HP9 2SN at 12 noon next Tuesday (November 19).

Our medical adviser, Dr Charles Shepherd, commented:

“I've known Anne Faulkner for many years – a friendship that dates back to when Anne and Hugh Faulkner were both involved with the ME Association.

“I was talking to Anne a few months ago just before going on holiday to the Lake District, where we both have connections.

“She was in good form despite having serious health problems and hoping to attend a meeting of the Forward ME Group.

“Anne devoted a great deal of time and energy to the CFS Research Foundation and was successful in raising large amounts of money for the research that was funded by this group.

“I will miss her forthright contributions on a wide range of ME-related topics – as well as our chats about the Lake District.

“Anne will be greatly missed by all who knew her, or came in contact with her.”

In memoriam donations can be made through James Peddle, Funeral Directors, tel: 01923 286102, directly to the CFS Research Foundation at 2 The Briars, Sarratt, Herts, WD3 6AU or by clicking on this ‘Donate Now' link on the CFSRF website.
