We’re winners! Thanks for your huge support

Thanks to the generosity and goodwill of a multitude of supporters, we have won £2,000 in the country's biggest charity voting contest!

Fifty prizes of £2,000 each were put up in the latest ‘Movement for Good' charity draw yesterday (Friday, 1st August) – twice the amount usually made available. People have been nominating their favourite charities to take part in this draw for the past few weeks..

We found out yesterday (Friday, 1st August) that we had bagged one of those prizes.

“We couldn't have done it without the support of hundreds, maybe thousands, of supporters who nominated us”, said our fundraising and development manager Jim Morrison. “Thank you all for so patiently putting up with our constant asking for votes. It was so well worth it in the end!”

The ME Association has quite a good track record of winning prizes in the ‘Movement for Good” charity draws. We won a £1,000 award last year and a couple of £1,000 awards some years ago.

We were also delighted to see that another £2,000 award was made to another ME/CFS charity –  Hope 4 ME and Fibro in Northern Ireland.

The competition is owned by the Benefact Trust, which since 1972 has donated many millions of pounds to good causes in the UK and Ireland. The trust also owns The Benefact Group, a major player in the world of financial services.
