The Gordon family has written an further update on 20th of July to the Change petition, and it states ESHT are considering evicting Karen from hospital.
Information from the Petition
Karen’s gastroenterology consultant came to see Karen briefly on Thursday the 17th of July. Following his visit to Karen in the evening on Tuesday the 15th, Karen asked him a bit more about the TEAMS meeting he attending on Thursday the 10th of July. He said that at the meeting Vikki Carruth, Chief of Nursing, said that East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT) might take Karen’s case to Court and that they are considering trying to evict Karen from hospital. This would be without TPN and IV fluid which would mean Karen would die of dehydration and malnutrition.
It continues:
It would be cruel and unethical if ESHT try to evict Karen from hospital. There are serious problems and risks for Karen of the travelling and being in St Marks because of the very severe ME. Karen should not be given a death sentence because of ESHT and St Marks disregarding the serious problems and risks that Karen has because of the very severe ME.
