Asha Ryan sang the praises of her husband Mickey when she nominated him last time for one of our Christmas hampers.
“I would be lost him. He has stood by me through 13 years of ME/CFS. He helps me practically, emotionally and mentally to get through each day”, she wrote from their home in Bury, Greater Manchester.
“He has a very demanding job and, because he is the only one bringing in the income, he has to work hard to keep it but nevertheless he always makes time for me.
“He makes me lunch when he's at home or dinner, breakfast too if he can, I rely on him to be the stand-in carer for our daughter. He talks through things with me when I am worried, upset and struggling.
I am so thankful I have him in my life. Best husband ever!

This Christmas we’re giving away more hampers so our members have another chance to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the people who care for them the most.
A relative or dear friend could be your ‘unsung hero’ – the person who makes a huge difference to your life.
This year we are delighted to be repeating our successful campaign and we’re asking you to nominate your hero for one of our super Christmas hampers.
There are three ways to make your nomination:

Nominees will be selected at random every week.
Please note that we might make the reasons for your nomination public but we will always ask you and your nominee for permission to do so first.
Please let us have your nomination as soon as possible and, in any event, no later than Monday 23rd December 2024.
