August 15, 2013

The NHS in Lincolnshire will be hosting an afternoon's ME/CFS awareness event in Boston this coming Monday, August 19.

It will be held in the town's Conservative Club at Main Ridge West, Boston PE21 6QQm from 2 to 5pm. Doors open at 1.30pm.

Entry's free – but the NHS says it's advisable to book ahead. Call 01529 222277 or email info@lpft.nhs.uk to book that place.

The hosts will be Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, whose secretary Peter Howie and public governor for East Lindsey Angela Stephenson will welcome visitors at 2pm.

Most attention will focus on talks by specialist occupational therapist Lynsey Woodman, who runs the trust's ME/CFS service based in Grantham. Lynsey will speak twice on current research and then on management of the illness. Angela Stephenson is also down to talk for 15 minutes on the road to recovery.

At about 3.15pm, there will be a half-hour break for displays and refreshments. The ME Association will have a display stand – please pop over and say ‘hello' if you intend going.
