ME/CFS on Abbey104fm in Dorset | Friday 10 May

May 9, 2013

There will be an ME Awareness Week special in the ‘Jam and Toast Breakshow Show' on Abbey104, the Dorset community radio station, tomorrow (Friday 10 May).

Cat Paterson, from the show, writes:

This Friday the 10th of May, tune into the Jam and Toast Breakfast show special for M.E Awareness Week.

Login to www.abbey104.com the show will be from 9am-11am – repeated on Saturday the 11th from 10am-12am.

Contributers are: Research Fellow Clare McDermott from Southampton University, currently doing a bespoke project on developing strategies for those severely affected by ME.

Clare had ME as a teenager, so can cover both the personal and scientific aspects. She also gave a presentation on the initial findings of her project to the All Party Parliamentary Group on ME in Wesminster on March 13. We are quite excited about this as her results are very encouraging – a good proportion of people with very severe ME can make substantial progress with the right help.

Also we have Jan Oakley, who believes ME is a dysfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System. An Aspire trainer, she has now developed her own practice with consistant results. She's been endorsed by our very own equestian three-day event champion, Mary King.

We also have a healer/naturopath and local GP/homeopath.
