Bookings are being taken for an afternoon conference being held by the reMEmber group in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, on Saturday, May 12 – ME Awareness Day.
The speakers will be: Professor Derek Pheby, an epidemiologist with a special interest in ME/CFS who will talk about the National Disease Register for ME/CFS andy the ME/CFS Biobank, both of which are being developed to provide a confidential database of information and a large collection of blood samples; Dr William Weir, a infectious diseases consultant, who specialises in ME/CFS and will discuss latest developments; and Kathy Stott, principal pharmacist at the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath, with lead responsibility for endocrinology, who will speak on immuno-modulatory drugs.
Bill Kent, from reMEmber, said that Professor Pheby will explain how blood samples will be taken and forms will be available for those wanting to donate blood.
