No different to Notts Talking Therapies dealing with chronic illness cbt training. I was hoping for a specialist multi discipline approach with access to psychotherapist, physio, medical advice etc. That is what my GP thought as well. It falls way short of what people with a complex illness such as ME/CFS require.
Contrary to NICE guidelines, prescribes to the narrative of ME/CFS being psychological. Kept asking me if I had a lot of stress, refused to believe me when i said no. Talked about 'building up exercise'. No mention of PEM, and I'm not really in pain, I just need to think differently, apparently. I left the service after my initial appointment, I'd heard enough.
No understanding of PEM. Exercise encouraged and I was told to stop using aids like a perching stool and shower seat. CBT recommended. When I said I thought I needed medical intervention to improve the therapist said my attitude was wrong and discharged me. I have very poor cognitive function, my husband looks after my finances, he was accused of Coersive Control!? Extremely distressing.
Awful. They did not address ME/CFS concerns at all. Recommendations included exercise every day.
Unsafe. Not in line with 2021 NICE Guidelines. Use BPS model. ‘Treatment Handbook’ is poor & contains harmful misinformation. No ME specialists. No provision for severe or very severe.
Absolutlry awful service Wont refer me for scans of my joints "Pacing" ive learnt myself Im still in chronic pain after being with then for over a year. All they did was change my meds

The CFS/ME service for Nottinghamshire CCG is delivered by PICS (Primary Integrated Community Services Ltd). Patients can be referred from the following CCG areas: Nottingham West, Nottingham North and East, Rushcliffe, and Newark and Sherwood.
PICS is a community pathway where a multidisciplinary team of specialist clinicians help patients with spinal and other persistent pain conditions as well as patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) to get the right diagnosis and treatment, manage their symptoms better and improve their quality of life. The service provides holistic patient centred care within a biopsychosocial framework, with individual treatment or group work depending on patient need. A highly skilled cognitive behavioural therapist (CBT) provides supervision for all staff and work with local substance misuse services and IAPT providers to ensure the mental wellbeing of our patients is looked after.
The service employs a wellbeing practitioner to facilitate the self care part of the pathway. The wellbeing practitioner promotes self-management, forged partnerships with local voluntary groups, undertaken goal setting, exercise referral schemes and weight loss programmes.
