The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) are gathering experiences to help improve the complex process of transitioning from children’s social care to adult services using their survey. They are also running a series of targeted workshops in June for care, health, housing and education providers, social care leaders and practitioners, people with lived experience, families and carers – please see below.
“SCIE is working with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and the Department for Education (DfE) on a project to improve transitions. As part of this, we would very much appreciate you taking this short 10-minute survey SCIE has prepared to gather your views.
We are keen to hear from:
- Professionals who work with young people moving into adult social care
- Young people who are going through, or preparing for this transition
- Adults with lived experience of transitioning to adult social care from children’s services
- Parents, carers, and family members of young people who are going through, preparing for, or have been through this transition
The survey looks to explore what support, information, and approaches are working well, and where things need to change.
Your insights will help shape practical tools, training materials, and best practice guidance to improve transitions for young people and families.”
