Got diagnosed. Contacted them again asking for help and support as their website suggests but was told they only diagnose so three years later I’m bedridden with no support whatsoever.
We are a specialist multidisciplinary clinical service for Oxfordshire including clinical psychologists and a specialist physiotherapist. We work closely with medical doctors working within the OUH Infectious Diseases team and with the occupational therapy led Oxford Health ME/CFS Service.
- Once your referral has been accepted we will offer you an assessment.
- ME/CFS Service clinics take place at the Churchill Hospital or virtually via Attend Anywhere (virtual video conferencing) or telephone.
- Assessment may also include an initial appointment with one of our Infectious Diseases doctors. Infectious Diseases clinics are held at the John Radcliffe, Churchill and Horton General hospitals.
After your referral has been accepted by the OUH ME/CFS Therapy Team, we will offer you an assessment with either a physiotherapist or clinical psychologist.
- We will then discuss the most appropriate next steps which may include therapy within the service.
- Our approach is informed by current guidelines including the NICE guidelines for ME/CFS and BACME ME/CFS Guide to Therapy.
- We are also informed by our clinical experience of working with people with ME/CFS and other research into the best ways to manage long term physical health conditions and difficulties that commonly co-occur in ME/CFS.
- Additionally, we routinely collect feedback from patients and use this to guide our practice.
