In Memory

If you have reached this page it is likely because you have lost someone very dear to you.

We are so sorry for your loss and we sincerely hope that you have many strong, positive memories to sustain you through the next few months and years.

Helen Hyland worked as Fundraising Manager for the ME Association, this is her story…

Alan's Poem 2017

“This poem was read at my husband Alan’s funeral, he had suffered with M.E.

“The poem helped us to remember him in a positive way, and I hope that it helps to also give you some small comfort.

“We wanted Alan’s funeral to be a celebration of his life but also wanted it to make a difference – a tangible sign that his life hadn’t been in vain.

“We placed a collection plate by the door of the church and were overwhelmed by peoples’ generosity to our chosen charities after the funeral.

“As if that wasn’t enough, some of his closest friends decided that they needed to do even more.

“Pat trained and ran in a marathon and his village football team pals embarked on an ambitious tour of the Scottish premiership football grounds.

Gargunnock Footballers 2017

“This is a photograph of their triumphant return to the village. It was a day that I and our sons will remember for the rest of our lives.”

“Losing someone is hard. It took me a while to find the words to pay Alan tribute. But then, one day, they flowed, and I set up a JustGiving page in his memory.

“It felt good to seek out and share photographs of some of our most precious moments. The kind messages of support have helped to sustain me in the dark days since.”
