Debbie Spink was nominated for a Christmas hamper last time by her daughter Alexandra Baker for being just the best mum and full-time carer there could be.
“My mum is the reason I'm still here and still fighting. The reason I'm able to find any quality of life. A reason to smile. A reason to get out of bed each morning”, wrote Alexandra from their home in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
“She’s been my full-time carer for several years, Her life changed when my life changed. She has been by my side second by second, moment by moment. She never gives in or loses hope.”
Alexandra said her mum “is the reason I’ll still and still fighting. I think sometimes people forget about the carers and how brave they must be, My mum is the bravest person I’ve ever known.”
Debbie added: “What a wonderful surprise to receive this gift. Thank you so much to my daughter for nominating me, and a big thank you to the ME Association. This means the world to me as a mum and carer.”
This Christmas we’re giving away more hampers so our members have another chance to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the people who care for them the most.

Nominees will be selected at random every week.
Please note that we might make the reasons for your nomination public but we will always ask you and your nominee for permission to do so first.
