Two years ago, Janet Kinsella nominated her husband Bryn for one of our Christmas hampers as they were approaching the 50th year of their marriage.
At the time, Janet from Nantwich in Cheshire, told us: “He’s my carer and best friend. He had to change his lifestyle as I did when I was diagnosed with ME four years ago. Next year, we have been married for 50 years.
“We don’t argue. We just have misunderstandings. He deserves a big thank you.”
Sadly, Bryn passed away in September this year after suffering with stage 4 cancer of the oesophagus. He had been given just six months to live.
“So we became carers to each other. He was surprised to receive your hamper and really enjoyed it as he was a chocoholic.
I would love you to use what I wrote about Bryn. It would have been an honour and he would have been pleased to help.
Janet Kinsella
This Christmas we’re giving away more hampers so our members have another chance to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the people who care for them the most.
A relative or dear friend could be your ‘unsung hero’ – the person who makes a huge difference to your life.
This year we are delighted to be repeating our successful campaign and we’re asking you to nominate your hero for one of our super Christmas hampers.
There are three ways to make your nomination:
- Visit our website and fill in the nomination form there: https://meassociation.org.uk/frommetoyou2024
- Email your nomination to frommetoyou@meassociation.org.uk
- Telephone our office on 01280 818 963
Whatever way you choose, this is what we will need from you:
- Your full name
- Your nominee’s name, postal address, email and phone number
- Your relationship to your nominee
- The reasons why you are nominating them
Nominees will be selected randomly every week.
Please note that we might make the reasons for your nomination public but we will always ask you and your nominee for permission to do so first.
Please let us have your nomination as soon as possible and, in any event, no later than Monday 23rd December 2024.
Could you be one of our Secret Santas this year?
A generous donor has paid for the first 100 hampers, but over 250 were requested last time round. So we are also offering you the opportunity to become a Secret Santa this year.
If you can, please help spread some joy through or community by giving us a donation here:
