Two years ago, Richard Gatfield – who owns a coffee shop in Wakefield – was nominated for a Christmas hamper by his wife Louise because “he's always by my side through everything that with living with ME throws at me.”
Louise told us: “I had to give up my career in education when I became poorly and have struggled so much. But he's supported me through the rollercoaster of tried treatments and disappointments and has such patience.
“Because of his help and support and hard work, he has enabled me to be a good mum and nana to my grand children and never criticised the changing me. I am very lucky to have his support and understanding. When things get tough, he is always there….a wonderful person.”
When she can, Louise enjoys painting and finds that helps with taking her mind off the chronic pain of her illness.
This Christmas we’re giving away more hampers so our members have another chance to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the people who care for them the most.
A relative or dear friend could be your ‘unsung hero’ – the person who makes a huge difference to your life.
This year we are delighted to be repeating our successful campaign and we’re asking you to nominate your hero for one of our super Christmas hampers.
There are three ways to make your nomination:
- Visit our website and fill in the nomination form there: https://meassociation.org.uk/frommetoyou2024
- Email your nomination to frommetoyou@meassociation.org.uk
- Telephone our office on 01280 818 963
Whatever way you choose, this is what we will need from you:
- Your full name
- Your nominee’s name, postal address, email and phone number
- Your relationship to your nominee
- The reasons why you are nominating them
Nominees will be selected randomly every week.
Please note that we might make the reasons for your nomination public but we will always ask you and your nominee for permission to do so first.
Please let us have your nomination as soon as possible and, in any event, no later than Monday 23rd December 2024.
Could you be one of our Secret Santas?
A generous donor has paid for the first 100 hampers, but over 250 were requested last time round. So we are also offering you the opportunity to become a Secret Santa this year.
If you can, please help spread some joy through or community by giving us a donation here:
