Two years ago, 18-year-old Jack Sturgess was nominated for a Christmas hamper by his aunt Debbie – with whom he was living in Coleford, Gloucestershire, under a family adoption arrangement.
At the time, Debbie wrote:
“He assists in looking after our dogs when I can't and when my brain fog is really bad, he fills in the words when I can't find them.
“He is studying psychology at “A” level and has chosen ME as his subject to do a paper to contribute to his studies. I am incredibly proud of him. He really does care and wants to know how he can help and support not only me but others too.
“He never complains and always smiles and gives me a hug. He is a gem.”
Jack has been stoic in his support of me and continues to be incredibly generous in his time and support in enabling me to function to a level. He is incredibly understanding, knows when I'm in zombie mode and makes endless cups of camomile tea.
Debbie, talking about her nephew Jack
Jack is now studying psychology at St Andrew’s University in Scotland, one of the UK’s highest-rated seats of learning.
This Christmas we’re giving away more hampers so our members have another chance to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the people who care for them the most.
A relative or dear friend could be your ‘unsung hero’ – the person who makes a huge difference to your life.
This year we are delighted to be repeating our successful campaign and we’re asking you to nominate your hero for one of our super Christmas hampers.
There are three ways to make your nomination:
- Visit our website and fill in the nomination form there: https://meassociation.org.uk/frommetoyou2024
- Email your nomination to frommetoyou@meassociation.org.uk
- Telephone our office on 01280 818 963
Whatever way you choose, this is what we will need from you:
- Your full name
- Your nominee’s name, postal address, email and phone number
- Your relationship to your nominee
- The reasons why you are nominating them
Nominees will be selected randomly every week.
Please note that we might make the reasons for your nomination public but we will always ask you and your nominee for permission to do so first.
Please let us have your nomination as soon as possible and, in any event, no later than Monday 23rd December 2024.
Could you become one of our Secret Santas?
Could you be a Secret Santa this year?
A generous donor has paid for the first 100 hampers, but over 250 were requested last time round. So we are also offering you the opportunity to become a Secret Santa this year.
If you can, please help spread some joy through or community by giving us a donation here:
