The Irish ME/CFS Association has been working hard to organise approximately 3,600 envelopes with a wide range of information on ME/CFS in preparation to be sent to Irish GPs. The information pack includes the ME Association's infographic ME/CFS Guide for Primary Care.
Earlier in the year, Tom Kindlon, Assistant Chairperson to the Irish ME/CFS Association contacted the ME Association about this initiative and we were happy to provide a high-resolution copy of the infographic to be included in the GP packs.
Margaret Nolan, trustee of the Irish ME/CFS Association and her husband Jimmy have been volunteering to ensure the envelopes have all the relevant information. They both have been highly supportive of the Irish ME/CFS Association, having cared for their daughter Ruth has been bedbound with ME for over 30 years.

GP Information Packs includes:
GP Webinar: ‘Key messages for Primary Care on the Diagnosis and Management of Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome and ME/CFS
The information packs include a flyer for a free GP webinar the Irish ME/CFS Association and Irish ME Trust (a joint initiative organised for April 8th) with Dr Ros Vallings from New Zealand entitled ‘Key messages for Primary Care on the Diagnosis and Management of Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome and ME/CFS'.
This is a one hour of CPD accreditation has been approved for this event by the Irish College of General Practitioners. The flyer with information of this event has been included in the GP packs that are to be sent out by the Irish ME/CFS Association.

Information about 2023 GP Packs
In 2023, the Irish ME/CFS Association sent out the MDPI: What Primary Care Practitioners Need to Know about the New NICE Guideline for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in Adults article which was co-authored by Dr Charles Shepherd to 3,200 General Practitioners.
This article has since been made into an outreach audiobook on the science communication channel, SciPod entitled ‘From Stigma to Support: A New Approach to ME/CFS Treatment in the UK.
