Survey Results: Headaches, Migraines & ME/CFS

Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome has a wide range of debilitating symptoms which include chronic pain and overwhelming exhaustion that significantly impacts quality of life, and among the co-morbid conditions people may experience are migraine type headaches.  

Throughout September and to coincide with Migraine Awareness Week (23rd -19th), we asked you to complete a survey regarding your experience of migraine type headaches and we were pleased with the response with 869 people completing the survey to date.

Here is a snapshot of the results:

How severe are your headaches or migraines?

  • Mild – temporarily affects ability to do activities of daily living (ADL's) 30%
  • Moderate – can affect ADL’s for several days 41%
  • Severe – can regularly affect ADL’s 28%
  • Very severe – greatly affects ADL’s for a sustained amount of time 14%
