Tony Britton, Fundraising Manager, ME Association.

The ME Association has a vested interest in asking supporters to take part in one of this year’s Kiltwalks being held in four cities round Scotland.

And it’s this: for every pound raised, billionaire businessman Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation will add 40p!

The Moran Family Kiltwalk 2019

If you live in Scotland, please come out to support us – either as a walker or a volunteer.

Letter from Sir Tom Hunter following the 2019 Kiltwalk events.

Supporters who took part last year all sported the tartan – even if it was just a small addition to their clothing. Last year, the events raised several thousand pounds for the ME Association – and then some!

This year, walks will be held in Glasgow on April 26, Aberdeen on June 7, Dundee on August 16 and Edinburgh on September 13. Participants choose between three different distances, which were being confirmed as we went to press.

The unconfirmed distances for Glasgow are: The Mighty Stride – 23 miles (entrants must be 13 or over), The Big Stroll – 13 miles (10 years and over), and The Wee Wander – six miles (children under five enter free).

There is a modest entry fee payable to cover costs and The Kiltwalk will provide participants with their own fundraising pages, which can be personalised.

Volunteers helping out at the walks are called ‘Kilties’. For each hour volunteered The Hunter Foundation will donate £1.40 to a charity of the volunteer’s choice.

To register to walk or as a volunteer, visit www.thekiltwalk.co.uk Please don't forget that you'll be doing it for us!
