Professor Sir John Savill, whose three-year appointment as chief executive of the UK Medical Research Council (MRC) started on 1 October, will address the All Party Parliamentary Group on ME on Tuesday, January 24.
APPG chair Annette Brooke MP says the meeting will follow up the aspirations for M.E. research which were discussed with Professor Stephen Holgate, chair of the MRC's expert group on ME/CFS, when he met the group in February.
The meeting – which will not be open to the public – will be held between 3.30 and 4.30pm in Room N, Portcullis House.
The MRC is expected to announce the results of its search for new ME/CFS research projects later this month.
