Supplements – Myth or Miracle Cure?

In this leaflet, we discuss how people with ME/CFS might resort to supplements in the hope that the marketing hype will lead to symptom improvement or even cure. Are such claims credible? What is the scientific evidence to support them?

In this leaflet, registered dietitian Deborah Lycett talks examines the available scientific evidence, helps to determine reasonable products from snake oil, and looks more closely at popular supplements.  “Those who suffer with overwhelming fatigue and many other symptoms of ME/CFS are understandably keen to find a cure, often willing to pursue any ray of hope, whatever the cost.”
