Nutrition Assessment & Malnutrition

In this leaflet, we review the importance of nutrition and the dangers of malnutrition, especially in people severely and very severely affected by M.E.

In this leaflet, Dr Charles Shepherd (Hon. Medical Adviser to the ME Association) reviews the importance of nutrition especially in people severely and very severely affected by M.E.

He discusses malnutrition and the dangers of restrictive diets, the effect malnutrition can have on physical symptoms and mental health, and the importance of obtaining a nutritional assessment – something he has raised with the NICE guideline committee.
