This illness can have far reaching effects on day-to-day diet, eating habits and abilities. There is a lot of conflicting advice and information, in print and on the internet, which makes it confusing to know what to believe.
The leaflet explores current evidence about diet and healthy eating in relation to M.E. and the myths around them. It also considers food links with symptoms, such as energy fluctuations, feeling sick (nausea), other gut symptoms, unwanted weight changes, caffeine, alcohol intolerance and orthostatic intolerance.
We do not attempt to discuss the complex topic of individual nutrients or supplements as an intervention or therapy for M.E.
