Blue Badge Scheme

The leaflet provides an overview of the blue badge parking scheme and explains how you can make an application. People with ME/CFS should be eligible if they can meet the criteria. Also included is a letter you can use to support an application.

The Blue Badge Scheme provides a range of parking concessions on public roads throughout the UK. The concessions are designed to assist people who have more severe problems with mobility and have difficulty  using public transport. A Blue Badge usually lasts for up to 3 years. They cost up to £10 in England and £20  in Scotland, and are free in Wales.

The leaflet provides an overview of the scheme and explains how you can use the Government website to make an application to your local authority. People with ME/CFS who have walking difficulties should be eligible for a Blue Badge with supportive medical evidence or if they receive the higher rate mobility component of Personal Independence Payment. We have also included a letter with this leaflet that you can use to support your application.
