Plasma exchange for ME/CFS?
A friend of mine, who has a very debilitating neurological disease, has been receiving a treatment called plasma exchange in a London hospital. This removed harmful antibodies from his blood.
My understanding is that people with ME also have these harmful antibodies. Is this a treatment that we ought to be looking into?

Dr Shepherd has been Trustee and Hon. Medical Adviser to the ME Association for more than 40 years. His knowledge extends to Post-Viral Fatigue Syndromes (PVFS), Myalgic Encephalopathy/Encephalomyelitis (ME), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), and Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) or Long Covid.
