The ME Association provides information and support about myalgic encephalomyelitis/encephalopathy or M.E. to people affected by the disease.
We strive to develop professional and high quality information materials and services and to make them accessible to anyone in the community.
ME Essential Magazine
Members of the ME Association receive a quarterly magazine – ME Essential – delivered straight to their door.
It features exclusive interviews, comment from MEA staff and trustees, medical and scientific developments and includes stories and opinions from people living with M.E.
The ME Show – Podcast Series
Season Two of The ME Show began in January 2019 and ended after a very popular ten episodes hosted by Gary Burgess (ITV journalist and M.E. sufferer).
Gary also recorded an ME Awareness Week Special in May and a Severe ME Week Special in August.
You can still listen to seasons one and two of the podcast series or via a subscription to iTunes or other podcast platforms.
Gary started the last season interviewing Dr Charles Shepherd, who provided an update on M.E. research, the NICE guideline review and the important patient surveys that are feeding into that process. There is a note of cautious optimism about the developments taking place in the world of M.E.
Website Shop – Leaflets, Books and much, much more!
We produce over 90 leaflets all aimed at helping you understand your medical condition and learn how best to manage it.
The medical information has been written by Dr Charles Shepherd, Hon. Medical Adviser and Trustee, and our other expert advisers.
We also have leaflets and books aimed at helping combat those conditions that might develop alongside M.E. and in regard to things like the annual flu vaccination.
Some of these leaflets are free, while others are provided at a small cost to help subsidise charity activities. We also provide merchandise to help support fundraising events and to raise awareness of M.E.
You can download a complete list of all our literature and merchandise, and you will also find the order form with every issue of ME Essential magazine.
If you prefer not to use the website shop, the order form can be manually completed and returned to ME Association Head Office along with payment.
