Helpline volunteers – can you spare us a couple of hours a week?

HELPLINE UPDATE – PLEASE REPOST

It never rains but it pours!

Hilary, our helpline services manager at ME Connect, has been telling me that she's losing some of her best telephone volunteers.

Two are moving abroad (one to get married), one has almost completed training to find out that she has been diagnosed with a hearing problem and another is retiring after years of brilliant service.

Yes! You've guessed it… once again, we're looking for some telephone volunteers to work from home.

If it sounds a little bit up your street, you'll need access to a landline because the call answering system we use to protect our volunteers doesn't work with mobile phones.

And we work in two-hours shifts. So, if you think you could offer us at least one shift a week, we'd love to hear from you.

The helpline is open every day of the week between these times: 10am-12noon, 2-4pm and 7-9pm but you choose the times when you're available. We never take advantage of our volunteers by requiring them to work at times they don't want to.

Please email us at meconnect@meassociation.org.uk if you might be interested. Hilary will get back to you as quickly as possible.
