From me to you: Anddra nominates husband

From M.E. to You – M.E. reared its head at a terrifying time!

Andrya Prescott has no doubts whatsoever about the unpaid carer who means most to her in her life – her husband Stephen.

“Steve has been an incredible support.  Through the terrifying early stages of my brain injury and as we adjusted to the lasting M.E. that leaves me unable to work, he has been supportive, encouraging, cheering and kind”, she wrote from their home in Leyland, Lancashire.

“He cooks every day, takes me away so I have a different view than our home, runs up and down stairs for things that I need and takes me to girls’ nights – waiting outside for the 15 to 20 minutes I can manage.”

Andrya and Steve have been married for 22 years. She first became ill in August 2019, with her M.E. diagnosed just before the onslaught of Covid early in 2020.

Her verdict on why she has nominated Steve to receive one of the 100 hampers crammed with seasonal goodies in our great Christmas give-away?

“He is a star! I am overwhelmed by his kindness even when he is having a rubbish day at work, or feeling below par.

“It is a journey we hadn’t expected, but we are on it together.”

Thank you, Andrya. Over the next month, we will be making random selections from the people you nominate and sending them Christmas hampers.  With their permission, we will be featuring some of the stories they have provided.
