zombies in Worcester 1

Not your average sight outside a local shopping centre – but the annual ‘Worcester Zombie Walk' will be taking place in the city on Sunday, October 24. The ME Association will once again be the beneficiary of this homage to a particular screen genre.

The event will start off with ‘a Zombie wedding ceremony' at Lloyds Bar in Crown Passage shortly after 11am followed by a lurch along Broad Street, the Crowngate Shopping Centre, High Street, Pump Street, Cathedral Plaza, The Shambles and Church Street – before retracing their steps to Lloyds Bar.

Afterwards, there will be food, drinks, movies, games and music through the afternoon and into the evening. All will be welcome. You don't have to dress up for the event – but it would add to the fun if you do.

The day is being organised by Andy and Tracey Monaghan, who run a city-based business called Monny's Mortuary which celebrates the world of horror movies.

The picture shows participants last year begging to be let into the shopping centre. And (below) last year's lurch through the city centre.
