Hillary Johnson, author of ‘Osler's Web' – a classic, 720-page investigation into the spread of ME/CFS, published in 1996 – will give a boost to this year's major UK, ME/CFS research conference when she speaks at a dinner in London on Thursday, May 28.
Johnson will be the star warm-up act for Invest in ME's fourth international conference to be held at the usual venue – One Birdcage Walk, Westminster – on May 29.
‘Osler's Web', subtitled ‘Inside the labyrinth of the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome epidemic: the in-depth story of the ominous and mysterious disease afflicting millions', was published by Penguin and is still in print.
For her address at the IiME dinner, Johnson, a journalist whose work has appeared in many US publications, will talk on the influence on ME/CFS round the world of the authoritative Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia, which has shifted perceptions about illness – not just in America, but round the world.
