Eric Smart back on the road in Italy
They make 'em tough in Scotland! Our Aberdeen-Australia cyclist, Eric Smart, has recovered from a broken collarbone after taking a tumble from his bike in Italy.
After spending five weeks kicking his heels doing very little, he’s now pedalling south again towards the port of Brindisi – where he plans to catch a boat to Greece. Because of the time spent recovering from his injury, he has had to remove the former Yugoslav republics and Albania from his cycling itinerary.
Back home in Aberdeen, his mum Audrey said friends of the family looked after him while he was convalescing in Italy. Eric has now been on the road for six months, raising money for The ME Association. Please show your support by visiting www.justgiving.com/ericsmart
Extra – November 3. When he was last able to access the internet (on October 22), Eric was cycling across Greece.
