The Melvin Ramsay Society is a medical and scientific study group.
The membership, which consists of doctors and other health professionals who believe that ME/CFS is a physical illness, organise scientific and clinical meetings and seminars which we pay for out of our membership fees.
The next meeting of the Melvin Ramsay Society will take place in London W1 on the afternoon of Friday 20th April 2007 and we would welcome any health professionals who would like to attend on this occasion.
The programme for the April meeting will include the following presentations:
Dr Abhijit Chaudhuri – Cytokines and Fatigue
Dr Derek Pheby – Epidemiological Research and the ME Observatory plus Factors involved in the development of Severe ME
Dr Richard Sykes – Conceptual issues in the classification of ME/CFS
Dr Charles Shepherd – The NICE guideline on ME/CFS
There will also be a short presentation on some critical analysis of the Lightning Process
The meeting will end with the presentation of the 2007 Ramsay Medal to Professor John Gow, whose Ramsay Lecture will be on:
‘An overview on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome from a Molecular Virologist’s Perspective’
The meeting starts at 1pm with a buffet lunch
The medical meeting lasts from 2pm to approximately 5.30pm
